Career-tech students in Hamilton, Ohio are encouraged to go on to college, reports the Journal News. Many career programs let high school students earn college credits, then transfer to a community college or university — sometimes with sophomore status.
Diversified health care students become state-tested nurse aides during their junior year and spend two days a week of their senior year in internships and job shadowing at the Fort Hamilton Hospital. In addition, they work with state-of-the-art, real-world medical equipment in the classroom.
Graduates can go directly to health-care jobs or to college nursing programs.
