Teleprof will teach robotics

A teleprofessor will teach robotics at Otero Junio College this fall, reports the Tribune-Democrat inLa Junta, Colorado.

Robert Kressin, an engineering professor at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, will use Cisco’s TelePresence, a high-quality spatial audio and life-like video, to teach at Otero from his home campus. An Otero professor will teach the labs.

Through the use of specialized cameras, audio equipment and curved screens, students will have real-time, two-way interaction with Dr. Kressin at UCCS and the other students in that classroom.

Otero is aligning its pre-engineering classes with UCCS to help students who earn an associate degree transfer with junior status.
