Laureate U snags Bill Clinton

Former President Bill Clinton will be “honorary chancellor” of Laureate International Universities, reports the Baltimore Sun.

The for-profit company “owns a global network of more than 50 campus-based and online institutions in 21 countries.” It evolved out of Sylvan Learning Systems.

Earlier this month, Laureate bought National Hispanic University in San Jose, a small, low-tuition private college with many low-income Hispanic students who are the first in their family to go to college. Laureate called NHU’s students “a good fit.”
